At Van Isle Home Care, home support, we know that day to day cleaning can be difficult and is one of the things that Seniors need the most help with.
Maintaining a clean and decluttered home is crucial to ensuring that you remain as healthy as possible, especially during flu season. Visitors coming in and out of the home can bring it in. An organized, tidy home will help to decrease the risk of falls and strains because most occur from heavy duty tasks such as vacuuming, changing bed linens and doing laundry. During our initial visit, our Nurse Manager will gather the information needed in order to ensure that our handpicked caregivers will clean and organize your home the way you want.

The older we get, the more important it is to keep hydrated and adequately nourished. During our initial in home visit, the Nurse Manager will discuss dietary restrictions and likes and dislikes. Together we will come up with a plan that best suits your wishes and needs. Our caregivers come from a variety of backgrounds. Your home support team will be specifically picked to ensure you get the meals you want. The meals can be prepared while the caregiver is in the home, or in advance and left to heat up at your desired mealtime.
Our caregivers can get you to all of your appointments, as well as, running errands and taking you out shopping or for a walk in the park. It is important to your overall health to keep as active as you are able. Having a caregiver to accompany you on outings is an added level of safety and comfort.
Days can be long if your are recently widowed or tend to spend a lot of time alone. You may have no family, or they do not live close by. Family and friends may be busy and have lives of their own. You may feel that you are not getting the interaction or stimulation that you would like. Sometimes having someone to chat with, or go out for a walk, or sit and read or play cards, can be a welcome addition to your day. Knowing that someone is coming to spend time with you can act as a powerful motivator to rise early, bathe and get dressed in clean clothes.
As you get older, living independently in your own home can become more difficult. If you are finding it harder to do the things you used to, we would love to help!
