Dementia or Alzheimer`s can be overwhelming

People with Dementia or Alzheimer’s tend to be more at ease in the familiar surroundings of their own home.

Memory care has many symptoms. They can include memory loss, forgetfulness, difficulty communicating their needs and loss of coordination. Because it can be overwhelming, our goal is to make the Client feel safe and supported in their day to day life.

It is easy for family members to become overwhelmed as the Client’s health  declines and their symptoms worsen. Because Van Isle Home Care has trained caregivers that specialize in Dementia and Alzheimer`s care.  Allowing outside care provides the family an opportunity to take a step back from being the caregiver, and It also allows you more focus on enjoying the time they have with their loved one.

As the disease progresses, care can be increased, as needed. This supports the entire family is supported and that they are receiving the respite they need.

Care provided includes;

Cognitive support – memory training, reminders and cue`s

Assistance with personal care and grooming

Meal preparation

Laundry

Light Housekeeping

Travel to and from appointments and/or outings

Companionship

Ongoing communication and support from Client Care Manager with family

Nurse managed care to allow for ongoing changes to the care plan, and support for the caregiver and family.

While there is currently no cure for Alzheimer’s or Dementia, there is care and caring.

We believe the right approach to Alzheimer’s and Dementia care can help your loved one maintain a high quality of life even in the face of memory loss.
